Hairdressing has interested me since being in school,  this is what I always knew I wanted to do as a career. The Hair Centre has given me a brilliant opportunity to train and develop my skills in order for me to progress further. I work with the most amazing team of people who make working here such a pleasure. My main goal after completing my Apprenticeship is to become a colour technician at the salon.

I decided to get into hairdressing because I was brought up around it and it was always a career I wanted to pursue! I enjoy doing anything involving hair. I also love meeting new clients and getting to know them better. The Hair Centre has given me the opportunity to expand my knowledge of the hair industry and learn new skills. I look forward to achieving my Apprenticeship and growing within the salon.

Justyna Krzosa

Work placement: Care Assistant at Evergreens, Dorset.

JustynaI am currently a Health Care assistant at Evergreens and I provide personal care which includes washing, dressing and general day to day duties. I would highly recommend an Apprenticeship in Health & Social care because it has opened a new door for me and broadened my career prospects for the future.

Since completing my level 2 Apprenticeship I have gained more confidence in my job role which has allowed me to perform my duties to a better standard and more knowledge about the different legislation acts that are in place.  My future goals are to progress on to complete my Advanced Apprenticeship and a Higher Apprenticeship Level 5 in Care Leadership and Management.

I am very glad to have chosen to do a Traineeship programme with CLC. Having not achieved as well as I had hoped in my GCSEs, and not ever been in employment since I left school, I have been given a brilliant opportunity to do a work placement with a construction company and to learn skills alongside the work placement to help me feel confident when going into the workplace.  I feel my work placement is going really well, I am going out with different trades within the construction industry and working alongside them in real life situations and getting a feel for which trade I would like to do an Apprenticeship in.

Harry has now completed his six month work placement in Construction with Agincourt Contractors and we are very pleased to say they have taken Harry on to complete an Apprenticeship in his chosen area, Carpentry.

Bethany Fuller

Work placement: Trainee at The Riverside Centre, Newport.

When I realised 6th form wasn’t for me and that I wanted to do something a bit more ‘hands on’. I came across CLC and got an interview straight away, I’d been interested in care so they found a Traineeship and within a week got me an interview with The Riverside Centre. I have currently been working at my placement for 2 months and I am really enjoying the experience.

Beth has now completed her work placement in Health & Social Care at the Riverside Centre and has been taken on as a full time Apprentice so she can complete her Health & Social Care Diploma Level 2. CLC are very pleased of Beth for her achievement. We look forward to seeing her grow in the Health & Social Care industry whilst providing her level 2 training.

Be sure to keep checking back for more case studies at the Care Learning Centre.
